A pair of sophomores from universities in Ohio will be joining Dayton Dynamo FC for the 2017 NPSL season according to press releases from the club. Defender Eric Hutton is returning for his second season with Dynamo FC. Midfielder Tate Robertson arrives at the club after spending last offseason with Columbus Crew SC U23s. These additions bring the officially announced roster up to three players.
Hutton started all 41 matches played by Wright State University in his two seasons with the Raiders. He was named to the 2015 All Freshman Horizon League Team. Hutton appeared in 7 matches for Dynamo FC last season as a midfielder. The Dynamo technical staff intends to feature him on the back line in the upcoming season.
Robertson tallied 2 goals and 4 assists in his first two seasons at Bowling Green State University, earning All-MAC Second Team honors following his sophomore season. The Springfield native played youth soccer with Ohio Galaxies FC, as did his new teammate, Hutton.
Dynamo FC commented on social media that the roster will skew toward a more youthful composition in 2017. A couple of veterans will be sprinkled into the mix, but fans should look for mostly younger players.
