On Tuesday, Louisville City FC announced a broadcast partnership for the 2017 season with iHeartMedia. Home AND away matches, including pre-game and post-game content, will be broadcast to radios in Louisville and surrounding regions. According to a press release issued by the club, this is the first full-season media rights agreement for Louisville City.
The matches will air on NewsRadio 840 WHAS, 790 KRD, or 1080 WKJK. More technologically inclined listeners will also be able to find the broadcasts on the iHeartRadio mobile app.
The broadcast team will include play-by-play announcer T.J. Walker and color commentator Jeff Milby. Walker hosts a daily sports talk radio show on 1450 WXVU. Milby is the new host of Soccer City, a radio program focused on Louisville City, airing Saturday mornings on 790 KRD.
The degree to which USL Productions will be involved, if at all, in the Louisville City broadcasts is not clear at this point. Some details regarding the broadcasts will be decided as the offseason progresses.
